This blog post will break down everything you need to know about the new age limits and other updates to the program.

Major Update: Age Limit Reduced!

As of July 1, 2024, the maximum age to apply for the Temporary Graduate visa has dropped from 50 to 35 for most applicants. This is a significant change, so be sure to check your eligibility carefully.

Exceptions to the New Age Limit

There is some good news! Holders of Hong Kong and British National Overseas (BNO) passports can still apply for the visa up to the age of 50.

Streamlined Program for Easier Application

The Temporary Graduate visa program is now divided into two clearer streams:

  • Post-Vocational Education Work Stream: Ideal for those with associate degrees, diplomas, or trade qualifications related to an in-demand occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
  • Post-Higher Education Work Stream: Perfect for graduates with bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, or doctoral degrees.

Changes to Visa Length

The maximum visa validity period has also been adjusted for some applicants. Be sure to check the official website for the latest details on your specific situation.
